More Warehouse Development in Shippensburg

The Shippensburg area continues to witness continued warehouse development along the Interstate 81 corridor, at both exits, 24 and 29.  At Exit 29, the warehouse that has been under development for a few months appears to be close to finishing for occupancy soon.  The development of the Equus warehouse project also led to a reconfiguration of the roadways around the Intertstate 81 Exit 29 interchanges. Chambersburg area booming with new jobs

The economic boom in the Chambersburg area is continuing.  According to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry, the Franklin County area has seen double the amount of job growth as the rest of Pennsylvania.  Local jobs grew 2.3 percent during the past year, compared to 1.2 percent across the state, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry.The main drivers of local job growth have been professional and business services (up 300 jobs from July 2017 to July…

Growth in warehouse development and subsequent jobs that follow are expected to continue to grow in the Chambersburg, Shippensburg, and Carlisle areas of South Central Pennsylvania, in 2018.   It is kind of obvious given the continued development underway. Warehouse growth in Franklin and Cumberland County is a blessing and a curse

The Greencastle, Chambersburg, Shippensburg, and Carlisle areas have been booming with large warehouse development.  The growth is obviously related to Interstate 81, a  corridor that has become truck heavy in carrying good both north and south.  The good part of the warehousing boom is --- the jobs.  The bad part of the warehousing boom --- the jobs. Report: Truck Traffic on I-81 to increase 50% by 2040

A report was issued from the Pennsylvania Statewide Freight Model that indicates that truck traffic on Interstate 81 in Central Pennsylvania will increase by 50% by 2040.   Kevin Cole of the Interstate 81 Coalition, believes that truck traffic in this region with double by 2025. Carlisle worker killed at Amazon warehouse

OSHA is investigating the death of a Carlisle, PA woman while she was working at the Amazon.com warehouse near Walnut Bottom Road in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Jody Rhoads, 52, of Carlisle, died as a result of multiple blunt force injuries at Carlisle Regional Medical Center after the motorized pallet jack she was operating crashed into shelving, according to Cumberland County Coroner Charley Hall.
